Privacy policy

The short version: the Tidalume app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your phone. We don't collect, receive, sell or share your app data.

What the app stores on your phone

• Your water log, daily goal and settings: units, glass sizes, wake and wind-down times, reminders, sound and voice choices.
• Your Morning Tide and Low Tide days, intentions, mind minutes, streak, tide-pool finds, badges and levels.
• Music files you add to the app ("My music"), copied into the app's private storage.
• Simple counters, such as how many times you've opened the app. They're shown in Settings › About and never sent anywhere.

All of this is kept in the app's private storage on your phone. We don't run a server for the app, and we can't see your data.

Permissions, and why

• Notifications, asked only when you turn on reminders: your optional morning nudge, midday check and Work-block alerts.
• Calendar (read only), asked only if you tap "Show my calendar": to show today's events in Today's plan. Event details are read on your phone and are never stored, exported or shared.
• Run at startup: so your scheduled reminders survive a restart.
• Vibrate and keep awake: gentle haptics, and keeping the screen on during a session.
• Internet: part of the framework the app is built on. Tidalume doesn't use it to send or receive your data. Fonts, sounds, voices and content are all inside the app.

Sharing and exporting

Nothing leaves your phone unless you choose to share it. When you tap Share (a share image or a data export), Android's share sheet opens and you pick the app. What happens next is covered by that app's own privacy policy.

Voices

Spoken guidance uses recorded voices that come with the app, or your phone's built-in text-to-speech. "Get more voices" opens Android's own voice settings.

This website

• No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts. Fonts are served from this site.
• Waitlist: if you join, we keep your email address and your consent so we can tell you about the Tidalume Station. The list is stored in a database run for us by our web host, Cloudflare, and isn't shared with anyone else. We don't keep your IP address with your sign-up. You can unsubscribe from any email or ask us to delete your address at any time.
• Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security and reliability.

Deleting your data

In the app, Settings › Your data › Clear all data deletes everything Tidalume stores, including music you added. Uninstalling the app removes it too. To leave the waitlist, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us.

Children

Tidalume isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect anyone's personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
